Passenger Safety Policy

C&R Bus Tours is committed to ensuring a safe and secure travel environment for all passengers. When transporting minors, heightened supervision and clearly defined responsibilities are required to maintain safety and support the proper operation of the vehicle. This policy outlines the expectations and requirements for groups traveling with young passengers.

1. Age Requirement

Passengers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or older, not including the driver. A responsible adult is required to remain on board at all times while minors are being transported. The contracting party or group leader is responsible for ensuring that all age-related requirements are met prior to boarding.

2. Chaperone Distribution

Groups with multiple chaperones or group leaders must ensure that supervision is provided throughout the vehicle. Chaperones should distribute themselves evenly across the bus to maintain visibility, monitor conduct, and support a safe and orderly travel environment. Continuous oversight is expected for the duration of the trip.

3. Noise Control

Chaperones and group leaders are responsible for maintaining an appropriate noise level on the bus. Excessive noise that interferes with the driver’s ability to hear traffic sounds, emergency sirens, radio communications, or other necessary auditory cues is not permitted. Disruptive behavior that may compromise the safety or comfort of passengers must be addressed promptly.

4. Seat Belt Usage

When seat belts are available, passengers are expected to remain seated with seat belts properly fastened for the duration of the trip. Group leaders are responsible for reinforcing compliance and ensuring that all passengers follow safety instructions issued by the driver.

5. Post-Trip Inspection

At the conclusion of the trip, the driver and a designated group leader must conduct a joint inspection of the bus. This inspection should confirm that all personal belongings have been removed from the vehicle, that all windows are closed, that no damage has occurred to equipment or interior fixtures, and that trash has been properly disposed of in provided receptacles. Any issues identified during the inspection must be reported immediately to C&R Bus Tours staff.

6. Cleaning and Damage Fees

Excessive trash, vandalism, or any passenger-caused damage may result in cleaning or repair fees. The contracting group or organization is responsible for all fees associated with cleanup or repairs deemed necessary by C&R Bus Tours. Invoices for such fees will be issued following evaluation by C&R Bus Tours personnel.
